Sisters on a Mission

“Sisters on a Mission are an all-inclusive group, focused on community support, service and fellowship”

All ladies of the church are invited to our meetings, no membership fees. We meet on the second Saturday of the month, September through June, for breakfast at 8:30am with the Men’s Group. Please join us at our next meeting – check the website’s calendar or monthly newsletter for restaurant location. The only costs associated with the group is what you order for breakfast at the restaurant and if you decide to participate in our outings or special projects. 

SOAM are involved with:

Annual Spaghetti & Lasagna Dinner, Annual Cookie Sale, hosting all funeral luncheons, attending women’s retreats at different locations, sponsoring trips to Bay City Players and Aspire Christian Nights, and a painting class for all church members.

SOAM contributions inside church:

Outdoor flowers around KCC, Father’s Day luncheon, Soup Luncheons following worship service, supplies and decorations for Harvest Supper, and decorating for Christmas.

SOAM donations outside of church: Community Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter food baskets, VFW Home for Children, postage costs for Yellow Ribbon Guard, Hurricane relief, Santa House, CAN Council, Nathan Weidner Center, CROP Walk, Easter brunch, Helen Wirt Lee Back-to-School Clothing Drive, and Bay Area Women’s Center.

 

 

Men’s Group

Our objective is to serve the needs of the church and the community and to promote fellowship of the men of the church. Our Men’s Group meets on the second Saturday of every month at 8:30am with the Sisters on a Mission. The “Men’s Group of Kawkawlin Community Church” invites all men of the church (members or non-members) to take part in our group. There are no requirements to join the Men’s Group. We start every meeting with prayer, breakfast, and a time of fellowship. 

Events Sponsored By Group at the Church:

Mother’s Day Breakfast, Euchre/Game Nights, Annual Spaghetti Dinner, and Easter Breakfast.

Events Sponsored By Group Outside the Church:

Loons’ baseball games, Annual Church Golf Outing, Send Santa to the Troops, Men’s Bowling Night Out. 

Our Group Supported the Following Projects & Ministries:

We donated to the Harvest Supper, Supporting our Local Military Troops Overseas and here at home, Lighting of the Church for Christmas, Church yard clean-up, Crop Walk for Hunger, the Santa House, Hurricane Relief, Kids Easter Egg Hunt, Hope Tote program for the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, various needs of the church, and our community Thanksgiving/Christmas food baskets.

 

Women’s Small Group (Salt & Light)

Salt & Light meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm in our Fellowship Hall. They are a support/nurture group that is a safe place for women to meet and talk over the matters of their hearts while they pray for, support, and care for one another. The group is beginning a Christian Book Club in August 2023.
